Épure Design takes first steps towards integrating BIM modelling technology. Building Information modelling (BIM) is a collaborative way of working underpinned by the digital technologies which create more efficient methods of designing, creating and maintaining assets. BIM incorporates key product data and a 3 dimensional model that can be used throughout the project lifecycle.
The Government/Industry BIM programme commenced in July 2011 with the focus being on adoption of BIM technology by both public and private sector organisations involved in the procurement and delivery of buildings and infrastructure. The intention is that public sector centrally procured construction projects will be delivered using BIM by 2016.
As a company we are taking steps in moving towards using BIM in 2014. It will be a new challenge for the company but one that we are looking to embrace and develop our skills further.
